It is with great disappointment that we announce that the 2021 Santa Fe Summer Series will not take place. While we were optimistic about our ability to produce the Summer Series, the long-standing COVID-19 shutdowns and lingering uncertainty in New Mexico surrounding large-scale events created an environment that severely hindered our ability to secure the capital necessary to underwrite the substantial infrastructure and staffing required for the 2021 Santa Fe Summer Series. Though the Summer Series will not take place this year, we invite you to join us at one of the many upcoming equestrian and non-equestrian events taking place at HIPICO Santa Fe in the months ahead. We are making this determination now to be fair to all involved with the Summer Series who need to make timely plans regarding their 2021 show calendars. EVENT HIGHLIGHTS

2019 HIGHLIGHTS & SPECIALTY CLASSES

ALL-IN-ONE JACKPOT JACKPOT GRAND PRIX

This challenge is structured in a way that allows riders umping at 1.00m to compete against riders jumping 1.20m, 1.30m and 1.40m. The class is handicapped and for each .10 meter increase in height a full seond is deducted from the time.

SANDIA BMW/MINI RIDE-AND-DRIVE 

This exciting class is open to Professionals, Juniors, and Amateurs. Riders will enter the ring on their horse and complete a course of jumps set at 1.20m Table III. After completing the course, the rider will hand their horse off to a handler in the designated area.

Riders will then enter a waiting Sandia BMW-MINI Cooper (fasten seatbelt!) where provided driver will take rider for a thrilling ride through the course.
At end of vehicle course, the rider will exit the car and complete an obstacle course that includes:
-Limbo
-Jumping a liverpool
-Completing a pool shot

AOHCJI CHALLENGE

This class is open to horses that have entered and shown in at least 1 other nominated jumper class during the show.

And—to add to the fun, try to guess what “AOHCJI” stands for! An additional prize will be offered to the competitor who guesses the meaning of this acronym.

FIESTA AUCTION

Don’t miss out on this year’s Fiesta Auction, sponsored by Electronic Vet, designed to make horse buying easy, highlighting New Mexico’s sport horses. Open and welcome for all to enter and bid, the auction offers the opportunity for the horse community to buy and sell top quality horses with an auctioneer and bidding paddles.

SALE HORES EXHIBITION

This is the perfect opportunity to show your horse over a course with the means to sell. Don’t miss out on this opportunity at our Sale Horse Exhibition during the Santa Fe Sonrisa Week and Santa Fe Fiesta weeks of the Santa Fe Summer Series.

PROFESSIONAL EQUITATION CLASS

We know they can teach it, but can they do it?

Join us for HIPICO Santa Fe’s Profesional Equitation Class and watch some amazing professionals show off their skills! This class is open to professional riders and judged on a combined flat and fence score in the BMW/MINI Hunter Arena.

CHORIZO WEINER DOG RACES

Join us in this hilarious and adorable tradition every Saturday afternoon of the HIPICO Santa Fe Summer Series!
Open to professional, junior, and amateur dogs! There will be two races: a mixed-breed race and a Dachshund race. Racers must check in with Chorizo Race Coordinator for the competition details.

The proceeds of this race benefit the New Mexico Center for Therapeutic Riding.

GRAND PRIX

Join us for the keynote event of the HIPICO Santa Fe Summer Series, which brings together the top riders of the circuit. Aside from the amazing show of height and speed in the competition, don’t miss out on the pre-Prix events in the Grand Prix arena.

USHJA NATIONAL & INTERNATIONAL  HUNTER DERBYS

Judged on performance, hunter pace, style, movement, and brilliance—this event is sure to showcase the best hunter riders as they soar to top scores in their shadbelly coats.
